On our "2024 Glacial Odyssey" tour, you will step on the surface of a glacier and feel the crunch of 1000 years of ice. You will walk between lunar craters and see many peaks of black volcanic sand left over from countless eruptions.
In summer, the glacier changes beyond recognition, replacing the blue crystal surface with flowing streams and murmuring waterfalls. The layers of the glacier, which are invisible in the winter, are exposed.
Every year, the scene changes, and in the summer of 2024, the part of the glacier that we will take you to will be a truly unique and unforgettable sight.
The meeting point for your trip is the Jokulsarlon parking lot. A short drive in a 4x4 vehicle will start our space odyssey. On the way, you will pass the film set of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
From the car park to the glacier’s edge, it's only a 5 minute walk. At the parking lot, you will be provided with crampons, helmets and instructions from the guide - everything you need for a safe trip on the glacier.
As soon as we are ready, our extraterrestrial journey begins. The whole walk on the glacier takes 1.5-2 hours.
Don't forget to charge your phones and cameras. In addition to plenty of photo opportunities on the glacier, we will make a few photos stops on the way back to the meeting point.
